Alas, I found out what the (1) and (3) were in the bindings settings. Opening the XML, I found my solution! The first 10-20 bindings that I had done were configured to device 3. This was too tedious for 2016, there had to be another way? I had already changed the first 10-20 bindings from the top of the list down and of course I got bored. I decided to check the settings in My Documents > My games > FS17 and looked at the 'inputbinding.xml' with Notepad++ (this program becomes important later). The device name in game was called 'XINPUT_GAMEPAD (3)'. When i changed the binding with my controller, it had a '(3)' after it. I noticed the default bindings had a '(1)' after them. Frustration slowly starts to creep in at this point. I looked at the bindings at reset to default, all the gamepad bindings were there. The game was recognizing the controller, but the bindings weren't working. I could skip the intro videos and such, but after that nothing worked. To my dismay the controller no longer works.
